Check out what I found in a junkpile.

Pioneer CT-F900

Pioneer CT-520

Panasonic unmodeled 8-track player

They all appear to be intact, BUT they are very scratched up, especially the CT-F900, it has chips and notches out of the plastic parts.
Insides look ok on them, but the pioneer decks need belts.
Heads are excellent condition.
Looks like they were used as foot stools, they are badly scratched up.

I am planning to see if I can do a full restore of the ct-f900, hopefully I can get it working nice and looking nice.

She will cost ya about $100 in parts (belts, idler tires, pinch rollers (Terry Witt will have to make you some)), and you will need to rebuild the Take-Up motor, DeOxit the sensor micro-switches, and operator controls (switches and pots). Then, you MAY be ready for a record/playback calibration/alignment.

The CT-F900 is an excellent machine, and well worth the effort, as many will attest (Top of the line for the 2 years it was produced). Good luck! Take your time. Enjoy the project. Do not get in a hurry and be patient (lots of unobtainium in there).

Looks like the tires and rollers are fine, seem not to be all dried out, feel like new rubber, maybe replaced in the last 10 years probably.
The belts are seemingly melted, which is what usually happens.
The CT-520, I already found a belt for it, and it works pretty well, rollers are dry in it tho, will find new ones somewhere.
I cannot test the panasonic 8 track, becuase someone has yanked the power cord right out of the back, and I will have to fix it later.
or a tape deck, that ct-f900 is very complex, I might not be able to do the belts myself..
I got it to play when I was spinning the pully with my finger, so I think it is definitly worth fixing up, and I already found a smoked ct-f900 that I can pick up for $20, and I will transfer all the front panel and plastic peices to this one.
The switches dont have any static, but the output switch need to be replaced, wont hardly move, so the broke one I am getting will provide that.

The pic of the 900 is a little washed out, but the faceplate doesn't look too bad, if it's chipped and scrated/nicked, send me a PM, I have a parts unit that night be in better shape. the middle one might not be worth a lot of time/effort, as for the 8-track, stack something on it, it's got cool meters. :thmbsp:
