Just left the local thrift with a conundrum. 4 Brand New Realistic Optimus 990 speakers minus the woofers. Thrift store removed and threw out the woofers due to rot, aargh. Anyway they came in original boxes, also thrown away, they were stored in high heat storage area. Hence the rot of the woofers and boxes.
Cabinets and grills are perfect though and tweeters tested fine, still have the original oiled walnut sticker on the grills. Everything looks perfect.
The conundrum is to what to do with these and opinions are wanted. I know they aren't top of the line Realistic speakers but those beautiful oiled walnut cabinets are special and worth every bit of the $20.00 I paid for all 4.
Should I/Would you?
1. Replace the 15 inch woofers with new originals
2. Replace the woofers with something else?
3. Something else
