4 ohm bookshelf speakers you have loved?

On the large size AR3's. You'll need some strong shelves for these!
Yeah--we forget that the 3/3a were considered small back in the day, and they are considered "bookshelf." I love my 3a's and they are on a shelf but my vote is . . . Cizek KA-1. Beautiful SOLID Hawaiian koa wood, dovetail joints, maddeningly complex crossovers and virtually no documentation available. I think they were all exported to Italy. I have 2 pair of these but would love to find the matching subwoofer.

Hi Kent!
I've heard of Cizeks, but know nothing about them. Cool little speakers! The one tweeter has an ADS vibe.
Good luck with your search for the sub!

Hey Glenn
The tweeter was the ubiquitous (at the time) Peerless 810665. The speaker on the right in my photo has a felt ring. Originally Cizek used a foam (IIRC) cover on the tweeter.

I would like to put up my all time favourite, the Celestion Ditton 15! I’ve had them, both in walnut cabinets and in teak! The teak is stunning! These are my favourite 4 ohm bookshelves. They do require an amp with a bit more current though. If the lows sound rubbery and uncontrolled and/or the highs sound harsh, then the amp isn’t up to the task.

Recently aquired a pair of Totem Rainmakers, they have replaced a set of PSB B15s. Amazing amout of articulate bass from the Totems, at first glance they do not appear larger than the PSBs.
