Why are there lines in the top surface of the print? The original finish is called "engine turned". You might be able to achieve that in the 3D print by spinning a bit of very fine sand paper against the metallic painted surface of the print (after grinding out the lines, of course). It looks like the flat on the original knob tapers as you go down the knob. On your print it doesn't appear to taper.

Does the print fit tightly on the switch?

Yes, you can buy generic knobs for a buck or two, some of them will look vaguely similar.
