5000 FM Stereo light on with muting off?

I would like a confirmation if this is as designed or not before I start troubleshooting. Original 5000, not A or X. Recapped and repaired extensively. When I depress the Muting Off switch the FM Stereo light turns on at full brightness. Even in AUX or Phono. In FM the light is on dimly and goes to full brightness on a stereo station. Tuner and MPX have been aligned. Anyone else noticed this? Works great otherwise, don't want it to come back over this...

No. Incandescent from Joe

TR409, (it can be 407 or 408 on some boards, I'm not entirely sure), can leak and cause this issue. Replace with a KSC2960A or equivalent. It will be the transistor with the metal heat sink attached.

Turned out to be TR405 was OPEN!.... Hope this helps someone down the line.
