G'day all, I think Jimi Hendrix had a song about a '51th Anniversary', well today the 8th of March (over here), it's my parents 54th Wedding Anniversary.

They haven't had the greatest marriage for all sorts of reasons but they've stuck it out and they're still married, a rare thing in today's society. So congratulations to my Mum and Dad! Happy 54th! :thmbsp: Regards, Felix aka catman.

54 is a long time. My wife's grandparents are around that point and sadly they can't stand each other.

My wife and I are at 1.5 years and while some days she drives me nuts, I can't imagine ever being separated from her. Heck, I went away for work training for a week last month and we were both miserable without each other.

I remember when I was young my mother told me that in life you really have no one here on earth except your family. I'll add to that with sometimes the dearest to you are the family you choose to have. So congrats to them for taking the better and the worse, the richer, the poorer etc.

In 54 years most any marriage will have it's ups and downs. I'm enjoying my 38th year of bliss this year. Hope to have 54 to celebrate in 16 myself.

Wishing you parents all the best on this special day.

My own parents did 60 before croaking, and like your own parents, not "the greatest marriage for all sorts of reasons", but I respected them for sticking with the roller coaster.

Congratulations to your folks for doing the same.
