6300 Counterweight

Always wanted a 6300 and grabbed one up recently. Should have examined the pics more closely because it was missing a lot... but still looks awful pretty. Main thing i am missing is the counterweight, and the shaft that it rides on. I have a small metal lathe and would like to make one while I am looking for one. Does anyone have one that they can weigh or know the weight of it? And what is the diameter of the shaft for the counterweight/ bore of counterweight.

I weighed my 6100 counterbalance weight and it was 142.4 grams. You could purchase any counterbalance weight close to that as long as it fits the tube it rides on. If you don’t get any responses, I could give you some measurements too if you need them.

Thanks, Chris

Is the tone arm broken? Missing one end?

You say the shaft the weight rides on...

Sorry, I missed that detail. I’ll check the shaft ID and the weight ID. I’ll get back to you. My calipers are at work, so it might be Monday before I can let you know.

Yep, that's the one... I paid too much. But I bought another one in rough shape, Will put them together to make a nice one and part out the rest. Someday Ill learn to look at pictures more closely before buying... but always wanted one of these turntables.

And, yes, the counterweight shaft actually threads into the back, that was broken off.
