Great commercial. One correction though.. the Judge was first available on the 1969 GTOs. That's a '69 in the video.

Wow, car commercials that just show the car driving on a road or the countryside, and not drifting through traffic like a loon? Love these old commercials, last christmas I got a dvd of old commercial (mostly free-to-public stuff) but one dvd of car commercials, way cool to see how they promoted their stuff:yes:
 
I've seen that commercial before. I've always wanted a Judge, and I'm also a Raiders fan... got a few of their' LP's and got a factory reel on ebay that seemed almost unplayed.. although for some reason, I really like the 72 more.
 
Anybody else remember, "It's the Radial Age-Now the World is safer on a brand-new Tire..." Think there was a luscious Poncho convertible in it, IIRC...

That Judge is not mine......I had a buddy a while back that had one just like it....I took those pictures at a outdoor car show this past summer......great looking car!
 
I dig the '69 models with the vacuum-operated headlight doors as opposed to the exposed headlights on the '70 models.

Just like the '69 Charger, it allows for a more sleek and sinister look; especially with only the parking lights on during dusk. Awesome automotive design, there.

I had a '68 GTO with the hideaway headlights. Looked great when they worked. Weren't particularly reliable though. The vacuum actuators for the headlight doors were mounted low in front of the radiator behind the "endura" bumper, pointing straight up, the rubber bellows on the shaft would collect water, rot out in a few years, actuator would rust out too, caused a big vacuum leak, you'd see them on the road one door up and one down. Sometimes water would suck all the way up through the headlight switch that had a vacuum valve in it, and ruin that part. Ah the memories!

Yeah, it's been a while.. hopefully weather will be getting warmer before long.. we need to do a ride...
 
Partial to 65's, 70's and 72's. Have owned 2 65's (one vert), 2 68's, 1 69, 2 70's (both judges) a 71 vert and 2 72's. Sold the last 70 Judge in 96. Still have my 72 4 speed car.

I am down to 4 Pontiac's from a high at one time of having 8 at once. If the economy ever picks up I see me selling my 2+2 to finance an additional garage.:thmbsp:
 
My first car was a 69 GTO. I traded my running clean Kawasaki H1 triple for it.
It wasn't running but someone had put the distributor 180 off so it was an easy fix.
The first addition was a set of bookshelf speakers on the back seat. months later I bought the obligatory 6X9`s and mounted them on the rear deck.
Oh how I relish the old days.
 
Aah, 6 X 9's, when car stereo meant 2 ch and 2 speakers. I spent about 12 years in autosound, and as a result my '70's trunk has room for an umbrella. I couldn't help myself.
