6EJ7 or 6EH7 triode strapped?

I was just experimenting with the EL84 to hear them and see how they'd
react in the circuit since they were basically plug and play with the EL86.

I plan on using a very low mu tube in the input spot on this amp and this
EL86 wired in triode is a very interesting tube and fit's the circuit well.

I like that 12A4 your showing there, I also like the 6S4 and may eventually
try a pair of say 20ish gain tubes in the 2 9pin spots on this amp to do the
phase splitting duty and do away with the driver tube all together.
(I would definatly take yu up on a pair of those, Thanks)

Could also try the less then 10gain tubes per slot for phase splitting as well
with no VA tube, then I'll definitely not "need" any feedback to reduce gain.
(Might want feedback for other reasons but not for knocking down any gain)

All of these tubes seem that they will fit my preamp when I get it together,
may be plug and play with a few wires on the socket or at the most a bias
resistor change.

I'm contemplating using a Barrier Strip to connect all the tube pins to in the
pre along with the plate and bias resistor so it will be easy swapable with no
soldering needed to change tubes and operating points. Kinda like the pic. :smoke:

Picked these up at Lowe's for $3.50 each, rated for 30A and 600V.
(probably only need one, using half of it for each channel)
