6N2 to 12AX7 Socket Adapter?

I just got my sweet FU32 tube powered amp to mate with my Fostex speakers. I was looking at tube rolling options on eBay for the 6N2 input tube and didn't find much except mostly Chinese junk. I did find this 6N2 to 12AX7 adapter:

Is this adapter a plug and play type deal or will rewiring be required? I couldn't find much info on adapters so I wanted to ask you highly knowledgeable AKr's before I spent the money to get an adapter and a fine 12AX7 replacement tube. Thanks for any help!

Cheers,
Jared

6N2 sub

Looks like the only other sub for the 6n2 is the 6AX7, but they may be hard to find as well. If you can find older Russian tubes ( 1970s) they would be way better that Chinese. I only use Chinese tubes for target practice myself...:uzi:

I messaged the seller and he said that the adapter I linked plugs into my 6N2 socket and provides a correct 12AX7 socket. I was hoping one of you might have been able to tell me if this is a true adapter or if it will ruin my amp.

hello. if your amplifier supplies 12v for 12ax7 heaters Russian tubes with mentioned adapter will not work. Robert.

I rolled a 70s 6N2P-ER into my FU32 and that made a significant improvement in overall sonics. I also have some 60s 6N2P-V tubes that I have not yet rolled. You might want to pick up a pair of JAN 832a RCA tubes, also an improvement over the China output tubes.

There is a simple mod to rewire the 6N2 socket to support a 12V filament. I think that a DPDT switch would allow usage of 6N2s and 12AX7s.

I got some off of eBay a few months ago. Worthwhile as Vokshod 6N2P-EV's are incredibly nice sounding valves and also very cheap as well. They were fairly similar sounding to Raytheon 12AX7 Long Black Plates and Westinghouse 12BZ7 Black Plates to my ear, and at about $3 a tube an absolute bargain. :D

hello. please ignore my post. it looks like I misunderstood your problem. the adapter will work OK. Robert.

I have the other version of that amp (the one with the wooden sides) and just rewired the heater supply to the socket for a 12AX7. Have also replaced the binding posts, anode clips and the RCA sockets for better quality ones.

Running with a pair of 1963 made NOS RCA832As and a 1961 made Wurlitzer branded RCA grey plate 12AX7:

It's one of the sweetest sounding amps I've heard, and it sings with the 4" Fostex Kanspea's.

Might you share details of how you did the mod. If I can manage to get good enough instructions, I may give this an attempt :)
