Hello guys. I want to buy wharfedale linton heritage and i see they are rated at 6ohm. My amplifier is the denon pma 1500r and i am not planning to change it anytime soon. Amp is rated 70watt at 8ohm. It has A+B speakers option at 8~16 ohms and A or B speakers option at 4~16 ohms. Will there be problems if i run the speakers with A or B option? Any chance to harm the speakers or the amplifier? Should i seek an 8ohm speaker? Thank you

You'll be fine
On the back it states
A or B, "or" being the operative word which means you can run a pair of 4 or 6 or 8 or 16ohm speakers
However if you run 2 pair of speakers at the same time (A+B) each pair would need to be a minimum of 8ohm

The Wharfedales are rated at 6 ohms NOMINAL impedance. But that doesn't tell the whole story. Impedance varies with frequency. So it can be as low as 3.5 ohms as seen in the enclosed response measurements. Your amp will probably be OK, just don't plan on high volumes.

Really thankful for the fast responses. Truth is i dont listen to high volumes, rarely push it at half the volume power but minimum impedance at 3.5 scares me. I listen to all kinds of music, i dont know if that has anything to do with the frequency response etc. Whats the worst thing that can happen to my amplifier? Will be able to recover? I found second hand lintons at 600euro, can you recommend any other speakers at that price range and lookalike lintons? Thank you again.
