6V 250mA fuse lamps?

So I went to my local vintage audio shop the other day to pick up some fuse lamps for my 2220B(all original one were burn out) and he gave me some of these(6v 250mA). When I asked him that I thought I needed 8V 200mA, he told me that these are better. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the company that made them is MCM(www.mcmelectronics.com)

Anyone else ever hear this?

Although I've re-lamped a few Marantz's and Sansui's in my day, this was some years back, and please forgive me if time and old age has blurred my memory and wisdom on this subject.

Others with better knowledge may advise, but my thinking is replacing 8V Lamps with 6V won't be optimal, yeah, they'll probably work in a pinch, but might also possess a shorter lifespan. Such might depend on the actual voltage in the lamp circuit, but still.

Most like doing it right the first time, and re-creating what the designers intended, proper voltage and output would be advisable iMO.

Parts Express carries some, here's a link. My thinking is that 8V 250ma Lamps might be a better choice, and more closely match factory intended correct illumination?

Wasn't there a seller here on A-Karma that carried every Lamp imaginable? GOJO, or something like that handle? Sorry, memory has not remembered his name here.

Perhaps a search here will bring up some posts, and this particular seller I speak of?

Read comments, stating that 250ma might generate too much heat. Yes, I suppose such can happen. Some may say yes, some may say no.

My opinion, better to err on the correct exact values.

Thank you for your reply. I try to shop local to keep the only vintage audio shop on my area in business.
I have just never heard of(or remember) someone using a 6V 250mA instead of a 8V 200mA fuse lamp.
