7" Single or 45rpm adapter for Technics SL-QL5

Recently I rescued an old Technics SL-QL5 turntable. I have already replaced the stylus and it sounds great, however I have 2 issues to resolve.

--This turntable initially recognized all LP as 7" even when a 12" disc is on the platter. I read here on these forums that placing small pieces of tape to the part of the lid that presses down on the automatic detection lever would resolve this issue and this has worked. But is there a better, longer-term solution than this hack with tape?

--The built in 7" single adapter built in to the unit came with one of the clips broken, so it can't be pushed down and lock into place for 12" playback. I am attaching a couple of photos for reference. Does anybody know the part number or where I might be able to locate a replacement part?

Two suggestions:
  1. get the 7" single adapter re-modelled in 3D CAD so another replacement can be 3D printed.
  2. if you only want to play 12" disks you could try using a small amount of BluTak to hold it in the down position (not too much in case in the future you want to take it out).

I wonder if this will fit: https://www.shapeways.com/product/AMKCQMA4Q/technics-sl-l20-k-turntable-45-rpm-adapter
I broke the tab on my slq-6 but managed to glue it back and it's been holding for a few months now. I'll just wont play 45's on it. The service manual for the slq-6 says the part number SFWEC06N01
I saw a post somewhere a few months ago about someone 3d printing one while restoring his, but I can't find it.
edit: I found it- https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/analogue-source/352620-technics-sl-7-latch-repair-refurbish-2.html

I find it amazing how we accept so much of other peoples' generosity on the internet, and yet there are some who are precious and won't give back anything. I'm sure the designer of the sl-l20 3-prong version has had the benefit of many tutorials and downloaded many files for his printer, and I'm also confident he's not going to make a squillion dollars from his design.
