My wife was watching a Deal or No Deal episode on Game Show Network this morning. The lucky contestant had two cases left … one for $750K & the other a Mill. Banker offered $880K. I would have taken the deal without hesitation. What would you have done and why?

^^^^^^ 21:30 time stamp … advance too.

I would have taken the offer because to me … $1,000,000 is just a mindset. I recall the term "millionaire" when I was in HS in the late 70's. The term is still being used today … even though a million dollars was worth 4 times as much back then.

Taxes would probably eat up 25% (held back) to start with. With whatever was left (after tax) … any decent investment advisor can get you to a million in short period of years anyway ( average luck and market dependent) with that amount of seed money to work with.

Finally …we're talking a $250,000 difference. $250K /2 = $125K … add that to $750 and you get $880 ish (the offer). Why take the risk? It was a perfectly fair offer for the case. Going back to my original point … the million dollar figure was just a mindset.

Anyway .. always thought the math money psychology of Deal or No Deal was fascinating.
