I was wondering if I could hook up 4 ohm speakers to an 8 ohm sub. Right now I have two 8 ohms hooked to an 8 ohm Celestion CS135 sub on the main speakers and two 8 ohm speakers on the remote speaker terminals. Not even sure if that's ok. Using a Marantz 2216 receiver.
I realize you shouldn't use 4 ohms and 8 together because the impedance would drop below 3 ohms. But what about just one set of 4 ohm speakers with the 8 ohm sub and no remote speakers hooked up? Would that sound bad or stress the receiver?
