8080db tuner section = ?

Would anybody know how good the tuner section of the 8080db compared to other sansui TU models? HOw can I use the tuner section only by using another amp because the amp section of the 8080db is busted?

The 8080db has pre/main jumpers. If you remove those jumpers (put them away safely), you simply connect one from the pre out to a power amp's input and connect speakers to the power amp. That way the 8080 will become a preamp/tuner.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I am using an integrated amp that I can not separate the pre from the power amp. How will I do this? Just wondering can a receiver without those connector in the 8080 be used also as a tuner? Thanks

Someone correct me iof I'm wrong.

I have never done it, but this could work:

Remove the jumpers and connect the preout from the 8080 to the integrated amp's aux or tape. The only issue could be you might need to fiddle with the volume control on both to get it right... AND... if it works you have all the inputs available on the 8080db to connect more components.
