80s reissue of Coltrane "Crescent".

I'm searching for this album's 80s reissue (VINYL only), which I hear is nearly as good sounding as the original vinyl. Anyone know if the 1980 MCA-29016 and the 1987 MCA-5889 reissues are both good? Is one better than the other?

Please, let's try to keep this topic to only these two releases of the album, not the ORG reissue or any others.

The 1980 one will be inferior most of the time with the ABC narrowing still there. The 1987 will be a good choice, MCA tried to restore things back to the original sound. And it will be mastered well from the best tapes in the vault as part of the early CD campaign. Which was well done.
 
I recently bought a reissue of Crescent. I was not familiar with the record and have nothing to compare it too for a baseline except for other "New" jazz reissues that I have collected.

It is a 180 gram reissue (says virgin vinyl on the sticker). The record label is orange with black lettering, impulse! The fine print on the label says 1997 MCA Records Inc., made in USA. The reissue was produced by Michael Cuscuna.

I think it sounds very good. The vinyl is quiet and there are no defects. The recording is dynamic enough, I have no reference to the original issue. I am pleased with the reissue.

Nice record. This Coltrane guy is pretty good.
