'80's rock bands that sucked & still do......

Men without hats, terrible
Tears for fears - ugh
I pretty much agree with REM above...just not that great beyond the 1st album
I thought Men at Work were VERY VERY boring
Same goes for Dire Straits...Great guitar playing not nearly enough

But I love some of the bands that have Been mentioned, of course!

Fire Straits had a few good songs, but after a while, the sound grew tedious. Whenever I am in the car, and their music is cued up, I have to change the station.
 
Wow... you guys are harsh. If this thread were to continue for another 18 years (and it could very possibly), there would be no bands left. I am starting to think... perhaps we should change it to "Bands that really rock" and see what the responses are. But then, at this rate, no one would be able to respond! There would be no bands left.... because according to the past 18 years... everyone sucks.

T4F's early albums were great. Funny my brother just gave me an OG of REM's first last Saturday for my B-day. Men at Work, too much airplay yes, but great jingles. Dire Straits, certain songs fantastic, but do all sound alike due to his playing style (don't mention your hatred in Germany, they love this guy).

For me, KISS in the 80's sucked, along with the Stones and Bowie. My least favorites; Murray Head and Taco.
