919 flat-amp...

My 919 was made in april of 1980. The flat-amp section has no black flag caps in it. I've heard of other 919 amps that do have black flags in the flat-amp. Which would be more common?
Also, there is none of that sansui glue anywhere in my 919.
What do you guys think?

If you did not buy it new, somebody else removed the black flags and glue.

C35 through C38 3pf

When I recapped mine in July, I changed C01 (33pf), and C35, C36, C37,
C38 (all 3 pf).

I found black flags on the driver board & the MM phono board. I changed all of them to silver mica. I could spot black flags in photos of other 919 flat amps. But no black flags on my flat amp board. Perhaps they used something else in those places. I am sure that I am the first to recap this 919. No sansui glue either!

I guess I'm losing my mind. I took the tops off today and there they were. New silver mica caps in the flat amp. My stupid mistake. There is a lot of stuff in there. It's hard to remember all those details.

Black flags were also on my flat amp, now all replaced.

Good job. I noticed you kept the old trim pots too. I just sprayed mine with deoxit. I did change them on the driver board though. I wanted to be extra sure that the origional outputs were safe.

My board recapped. Surprising that you did not see them ghamilton. There are a few that I did not replaced, because of my lazyness.
