A 2220 lighting Q

Red_Wing

...Pure Genius!
What lights should the 2220 have? I mean I see the tuner needle light, the lamps behind the dial are good, but besides stereo, what lamps should it have if any?
LOL!
I'm wondering if maybe I've been missing some...?

The Model 2220 only has the tuner dial lamps, a stereo lamp, the signal meter, and the dial pointer. No indicator lights for like FM, AM, AUX, etc.

Have a 2220B, that's all the lights it has also. Is the signal meter supposed to be functional? The needle on it just stays pinned in the middle all the time. The stereo light comes on as a channel is tuned in stereo, but the needle in the meter never moves.

Not the pointer, the needle in the signal strength meter. It never moves, it's stuck right in the center.

PatA, the signal strength needle should move when you're tuning into stations. The needle is stuck, or your meter is bad. There's a fix that I don't remember for the stuck meter.

Pat,
Try tapping lightly on the meter, that may un-stick it.
If not, you can try removing it from the receiver and disassembling it. The clear face is held on by either a piece of tape or by two small screws in the back.
Once you get it open look to see if the needle is binding on the labeled back or if a spring is broken. If you find a meter from a donor, you can always swap the guts to your case if the markings are different, just don't use a center tuning for a signal strength meter.

Sorry misread the question PatA ,
Once you are there check to see if any of the connections to the meter are loose or shorting out also .
