Heard this on NPR today. Bob can keep track of four symphonies in his mind at the same time, to the note. Tested in an MRI. Bob says CDs simply can't deliver the richness of music that his own mind can. Fascinating piece.

I generally attribute 'golden ear' claims to the (very powerful) placebo effect, but people like Bob do exist, so there's certainly some degree of possibility that some folks can hear things I can't...
