A cartridge for Technics sl-1200 mk5

Hello All,

Will anyone advise a cartridge for the <subj> if it is plugged into Yamaha n-s 500 with Yamaha ns-6490 in the end?

Items observed so far are:
Audio-Technica AT-150MLX VM
Audio Technica AT 440 MLB
Benz Micro MC Silver
Ortofon 2M Bronze
NAGAOKA MP-200

You are welcome to add to the list.

I prefer Paul Desmond-type chamber jazz , Bowie-type rock and Brahms-type orchestral classics.

Are those carts that you have already used? If so - seems like you already have a good set not sure why you are trying to find something else. Grado's are really nice as well.

If that list is something of a shopping list - I'd probably replace the Bronze with an KAB ProS30 - which is at the Bronze level - but comes in its own headshell - no alignment and no headshell wires - really nice plug and play setup that sounds sweet!

The KAB is sweet - it is one of my favorites - I've tried:
Grado Ref Master - My Number 1
KAB ProS 30 - My number 2
DV 10x5 - My second number 2
440Mla
Precept 220

Last two tied for 3rd.

Also - look into Grado MCZ stylus upgrade - or what ever Marc M is recommending.

I have an ATN150MLX stylus on an AT440MLa body on my 2010 model of the Technics SL1210MK5. Very quiet and engaging, highly detailed.

I'll second the Ortofon "Concorde" with an OM-20 or 30 stylus. I also enjoy the AT-7V and Grado Gold1 on my stock Technics SL-1210 M3D.
