H/K invented the receiver, and their first (the Festival D-1000) came out in 1954. So this one (1957) isn't the first receiver, but it's not too far off.

Control placement looks conventional by more modern standards; HK must've set a style with these. I know nothing about tube amps; the ad makes it sound like it would be a real project to get it working. But it's purty...

Yeah, copper was a somewhat common front panel color back then, before the industry settled on silver. EICO had a similar style.

Yeah there were 3 pics. Here's the rear. To my computer-oriented brain, it looks like one huge grounding strip to me.

I had a HK tuner with that same copper chassis. Very cool.

Don't know what the market value is but I'd love to own this thing, early receiver and solid copper, what's not to like? Given the amount of restoration and the fact that it's mono, I don't know if I'd go a hunnert for it, but that's just me. It's cool.
