Haven't seen anything good for a couple months until today. A newlywed couple was gifted the brides fathers "old" stereo stuff and they wanted to get rid of it because it was ugly. So I walked away with a set of Anthony gallo nucleus reference 3,(2) nad 1700 pre/tuners, nad 2600a,nad rc515, Anthony gallo reference SA amp, all cabling two really cool fm antennas. And a nice shelf. All for $210.  :music: now to set it all up.

Good for you !! Being at the right place at the right time . You will be putting up pictures of your score soon...I hope .

I'm sure the newly weds Bose equipment was much more compact and pleasing to the eye and never bothered to listen to dads old bulky ugly stereo equipment.

I will try once I get the amp hooked up to the speakers. Right now they are just hooked up to my spec 4 and sound verrrrry nice. Can't wait to biamp them to the SA amp. I'm still lost on posting pics from my iPad.

Majick, you hit the nail on the head. They are headed next weekend to best buy to get a "nice looking" Bose setup. Glad I could get the ugly things out of their hair.

Wow! If I was dear old Dad, I'd be a little peeved that my stereo gear was treated with such disdain. Different strokes for different folks, I reckon. And good for you for taking it off their hands.

Dad probably bought something even better...

Some time back I saw a similar posting on the Boston CL by a well educated young couple from Cambridge MA, probably Harvard grads. They had diseased dads MAC and Linn LP12 for sale and mentioned that they were quite happy with their compact Bose equipment and wanted to make space and dispose of all the old large heavy audio equipment.
