A&E technical research DCA400 amplifier need help to restore it.

Hi everyone, it is my first post and hopefully it is in the right section of the forum.
I have since long time, this amplifier, A&E technical research DCA 400, that recently give up on one channel, 5 output transistors. I took off the top plate to check it, after some smoke came up from the right part of the chassis wile messing with some loudspeakers wires. Unfortunately I tryed to look for the service manual on sites like hifiengine etc. but without luck. It looks pretty strate forward concerning the design ( I can post pictures if somebody it is interested). After taking off all the heatsinks ( they are removable, ) 10 aluminum plates with 2 bipolar transistors on each heatsinks 8 row of output and 2 row of drivers. They are looking like original Toshiba 2sc2460a 2 of them are gone) and the 2sa1050a ( 3 of them give up) . I could not find a source for those Toshiba transistors at list in Italy were I am located. Reading on this precious forum about some other amplifers using the same types of Toshiba transistors, (Yamaha m4 etc.) I went on and ordered 4 couples of MJ2193 and MJ2194 transistors recommended by others for the above mentioned amplifiers. My intention is to replace all of the Toshiba PNP transistors in one channel and see what happens. I checked all the resistors and replaced few capacitors looking a bit weak or out of specs. The rest, fuses, line caps, transformer, diodes looked and tested allright. Any help in finding the service manual or any help in general is highly appreciated. I was already able to fix a nice Phase Linear 400 series 2 that burned few output transistors reading the helpful posts on this forum and also with the help of some ex employee of Phase Linear ( Bob Carver era), kind enough to guide me through the testing of the 400. If its was me I'd be replacing ALL outputs in the blown channel, PNP and NPN using new insulators. It's also best practice to replace one stage back as well, in this case the drive transistors. Also check those connectors at the bottom of the heatsinks pictured for broken/stressed joints from removing them, probably replace those purple looking electrolytic caps whilst in that part of the amp.

Thanks for your replay, yes, it is what I want it to do I will keep the 3 Good remaining original Toshiba transistors as spares for the other channel in the output section, do you think I need to replace also the drivers?... I already replaced the caps you mentioned since 3 of them were out of specs ( lower uf ratings). What do you think about the mj2193/94 as replacements? Other things to check after that, like bias? Not having the service manual for me it's a bit confusing where to get the measurements with the ohmmeters and what to aim for proper voltage. The only thing I can do it is to test the offset from the outputs at no load, ones everything is replaced. I already took apart all the transistors also on the other channel and clean them replacing the old heatsink white paste with new one and used new mica insulators. I then clean all the connectors of the boards on each heatsinks with fine metal sandpaper (200 grid) and sprayed deox on the females connectors. I will also check again on the other 3 front main circuit boards some other capacitors once I will receive the transistors next week. I think I will use an inline bulb to turn it on for the first time, altought the line fuse did not blow as well as the other 2 channel fuses.

Hi, today I was able to reassemble everything together. I turned on the amplifier with no load through a light bulb that light up and dimmed after a second. I then measured the output offset with no load after 1 minute that was on ( basically cold) and I had 11,4 mV on the left channel and 70,3 mV on the right. Is this acceptable for a 70s amplifier? I don't have the service manual or reference numbers to compare. Thanks.
