What is it with all the Denmark sellers and the high end TT's or are these all scam auctions, not a damn one of them has a regular ole cheapy TT.

Gotta love the spelling though!!! Made me LOL  just noticed illegal pay pal fee. You would have to be nuts to trust someone from overseas IMHO.

It's a scam all right, went to see the other items for sale by the seller and sure enough, everything is hijacked from other listings, notice the perfect spelling and american style wording for his other item. I hope he gets burned right back by a reverse scammer. Should have known by the seller's id, way too american.

From what I see, the speling is ecqually pore on most of hes auctions. Is that a good sign? I think he's genuine. Just beware: He describes the amp as 'chip' meaning inexpensive - it is not a chip amp :)

P.S. My 200th post! ;);)

Forget the auction and the spelling - by far the worst thing he's guilty of is putting an MC20 into an SME3009 - mismatch or what?!!!

:yikes:

Adam.

The only thing this guy is guilty of is being a criminal because his listings are 100% fraud  These listings are fakes with all of the information in them having been hijacked from actual listings that have have been completed or did not sell. The sellers id is also stolen so if one of you guys cares at all about ebay you should report these crooks to them when you see them for what they are and we will all be better off for it. :smoke:

I'm curious as to how to tell if this is a scam...I've seen lots of 'hijacked' auctions, mainly where the seller is too lazy to type his own description or post his own pictures, so while unethical and dishonest, that's not always for me an immediate indicator of fraud. What I don't know how to do is to tell if a user ID has been hijacked...what are the indicators? I'm curious as I have bought hundreds of items on ebay and don't want to get scammed - so far, its all been good for me...

It is easy to tell, just click on the sellers other items for sale and you will see a pattern of difference in them, in this case the way they were written was totally different, a dead giveaway, also you will notice that the id indicates someone from the southern part of the US not Denmark!!!! Another way you can tell is by clicking on the sellers id history or feedback to see if they have ever sold anything before and if so what kind of items do they normally sell, if the seller's account has been inactive for more than 90 days and they have only been a buyer and never a seller you have pretty much identified a scam artist. If you have any doubt after all that then simply ask the seller a question and it they insist on communicating with you through a throw away email address such as "hotmail" etc. or if they request payment by wire transfer directly to them or anything else that does not go through ebay then you have successfully spotted a fake listing with a fraudulent seller in which the item does not exist and you will simply be scammed for the money.

You can read much more about this on the ebay website, go to the discussion forums and click on "Safe Harbor" or any selling board and you will hear much more of the same.

Stay safe & be smart

I also want to add : There are many tools at the scammer's disposal, however there is one thing they will never have and that is the item they are fraudulently selling. Knowing that the item does not exist all you need do is ask for more pictures of the item using the same background as in the listing and of course they will not be able to do that because they are crooks. :smoke:
