A good match with my AIWA (help)

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this world of "hi-fi" audio, but becoming much more intrigued since I was gifted an AIWA AF-5090. My problem is that I'm really indecisive on what speakers should I buy for it, since the ones that came with it are really crappy.

The AIWA has a power rate of: 2 x 30W RMS + 2 x 55W peak for 4 Ohms and 2 x 25W RMS + 2 x 32W peak for 8 Ohms. Also my listening room is of small size and I dont usually listen music very loud, so I dont really need a very loud setup.

I was considering vintage speakers since there isnt a lot of new stuff around this range (but correct if I'm wrong), but those dont pop up a lot around my zone. Would love some recommendations of brands and specs (in budget)

Technics sb-cs65
Technics SB-3410
Acoustic Research Model 18 LS
Warfdale linton 3xp

I think my top choice would be the ARs, although the Technics SB-CS65 look interesting, with their dome mids and tweeters. The others aren't particularly good, AFAICT.

You mention your "zone" but don't mention where that is ?

You mention budget, but dont say how much ??

IMHO, of the speakers you listed the Wharfedale would be my first choice, the AR's would be a close second.

Good morning! Based on your name, I will hazard a guess you are in Finland!

While I agree that the Wharfedales would probably be my first choice as well, you should check what their minimum power requirement is.

(Blaupunkt is not a name well known in the US, mostly for upper range auto stereos back from the days when you could install your own. I'll bet those speakers are very nice.

I would be surprised if new ELAC or Wharfedale bookself type speakers are not available to you.

Try to audition before you buy, with a low power receiver (if not yours), if that is possible.
