A Little Contest..........

I've either seen that before, or one very similar...and it's bugging the heck out of me that I can't remember what it was.

It does bear some resemblance in details to my TIGER brand receiver. Since I've never heard of another Tiger receiver, I assume it's a rebadge, and my Tiger does not say "made in Japan?", although it shows earmarks of Japanese design (with some Taiwanese parts). BUT since you said a couple of people were close, it ain't no Tiger, for sure!

:headscrat What other MCS models were there... haven't a clue, except this nagging sense that I've seen this before (remember where and about when, but NOT the brand!). Aaaaah, the suspense! :saywhat: :D

The Winner!

Alright, MCS 3253
tarior, you are correct it is a MCS 3253. So it looks you are the 1st one with the correct brand and model #. :thmbsp:
Send me a PM with your mailing address and I will get the prize off to you this week.
Thanks everyone for trying, I knew you guys were too good to keep stumped for long! A couple of you were real close at the beginning!

BTW, does anyone know who made this for JC Penny? :scratch2: It does seem to be pretty well made and is a lot bigger than it looks in the pics.

The receiver unmasked.

I think I may even have one in my "to do" stack, but I haven't looked yet.
Both Technics and NEC made electronics for MCS, but I don't know which of them made that one. If I had to guess, I'd go with NEC.
PM comin'!

Just curious, but what are the specs on that? It certainly looks like an impressive piece, but is it internally as well? :scratch2:
