yeah the drop down is on the components as well as the records
btw as it sits is not how it will end up. it'll end up sold if the wife decides it doesnt "fit in". if it does, I'll figure out something that makes it look nice

I agree about the cabinet. The face-plates and the cabinet don't seem to match. It's like colonial maple meets '57 chevy.
I'm not sure what you could do to the cabinet to help them look more "suited" for each other. :scratch2:
Maybe a really good piano black finish for the cabinet with some brushed aluminum hardware/trim...just thinking out loud...hmmmm.

Guess I've just never understood the camp that looks at some beautiful walnut & says "Let's paint it!".
The custom cabinetry is what makes this special, but the Grommes stuff itself is very good, & quite collectible. The tuner alone is worth more than you paid for everything, and that amp should sound fabulous.
Plus - we still don't know what's in those speaker cabs. Could be something very interesting.
You've stumbled upon something wonderful & very unusual. Please don't "remuddle" it.
??? Does not compute. Did this come from a thrift yesterday for $80? I see it in a Dec. 1 Craigslist ad (that's still up) at $350.

This is a grommes setup that Ive had for quite some time now. EVERYthing works. The tuner, the amplifier, and the turn table. Some of the knobs are a bit dirty but other than that, I consider this to be in excellent condition. visually the cabinet is in great shape, as are the units in it. I have no information on the speakers.

uhhh...... hmmm....
thats my ad. like I said, wife doesnt think it fits in and I should flip it. Im still in search of the metal original housings. I have an email into grommes. if I can get that stuff I can probably move it into my office maybe? right now its a bit out of sorts with my decor.
I'll try out my polk audios with it...they are currently hooked up to my knight mono.

I agree. It's a beauty as is. Would be a real shame to cannibalize it. Probably decrease it's collectibility value too.
