hey guys. i have this turntable (without base) that came out of a westinghouse all in one unit..
it doesent have a needle. but i figured out what the 4 wires running out of it are for..
2 of them are for the 120v ac in. one other is a ground. and im not sure what the final wire is for.
it was frozen and the platter wouldent spin. but i greased it and now its spinning easily again. any idea what kind of stylus or cartrage would fit on this. and also if its worth doing?? :thmbsp:
btw there is a number on the head of the arm (u13-13)

also it has 4 speeds available, 16, 33, 45, 78..
also it says on it. Made in great Britan :D

That would be OK for spinning 78s, but I wouldn't bother using it for high fidelity LP playback. It probably has a VERY heavy tracking weight. A Stanton 500 or some other DJ cart is your best bet with that table.

The other 2 wires were probably to turn on/off the amplifier in the original console when the records were done. You can ignore them.

thanks guys,, i googles u13-13 and several phonograph cartrages came up.. each about $20.. each of them has 3 connectors on it, (slides out of arm)
ea goes vertical (III) would a stanton 500 or somthing different fit in there without moddification?

Find something better. Most console TTs are called "record grinders" for a reason. There are a few good ones, but most aren't worth the trouble.

if you ask my opinion. it looks like a quality turntable..
i replaced the rca's
is there any downside to them being longer than normal?

So long as they are not longer than 4', you are good to go.

I have gone up to 6' with nice ones, but only in a pinch.
