A poem from my daughter

This is from my 10 year old daughter.

As i seek farther than my past or present the future is always ahead. As thoughts of my child hood roam through my eyes and brain,What i seek is faith through the tough times even though we have been deeply scared by them.No one can come against us for time is on our side even though we can not see it we can feel it through our hearts as love develops.Tears of joy cry down from the heavens and God speaks to us through feelings even though i have not earned mine yet.My heart is still taken and kept in a box for the devil to create for evil, even though i still want to be with my God.As the devils hatred grows stronger with the tourer my heart is feeling, thoughts of suicide dash though my head i wonder...if i kill myself who will take my soul...?The sweet angel who has been taken over by hate and has become the devil or the person who created him...God.All i know is i have to choose as i make my way to hell i fought and won back my heart then cleared it from the hatred that has posed it.I have chosen my side with the Gods in thanks for creating me.

Hi E!
As one who writes & enjoys poetry immensely, I say to you encourage your daughter to continue to write. For someone so young to have such insight is a wonderful thing to see.

I recommend that you expose her to a variety of authors & let her develop the talent.

That is incredible coming from a 10 year old. It is good stuff even if it was from an adult. Most definitely continue to support her love of poetry.

I remember you bringing her with to Jay's a couple years ago. Very smart kid. Encourage her any way you can.

Very deep sentiments for a 10 yr old kid. Me, I was more into "The Jabberwocky" or e.e.cummings' stuff...

sounds a little bit burdensome for a ten yr old girl to be carrying around. i realize that intelligence in a child is quite stunning to behold, but the person is still a child and is in need of guidance. perhaps you have discussed the poem w/her and what meaning it holds for her as well as where she gets her ideas.

Well said tincat.......

Like the saying goes..... An ounce of prevention....

Extremely Insightful for a 10 year old!! PLease encourage her to continue writing Poetry and prose. She has a True gift that few posess and most that do are sequestered by society. Yes the poem may be burdensome and deep, however this kind of Insight is Rare and should be Nurtured. Genius presents itself in many ways. JMHO.

Both of my daughters are gifted writers, and your daughter is clearly mature beyond her years. If you continue to support and encourage her writing efforts, she could end up a very accomplished author.

However, as tactfully and delicately as I can put it, I would be very, very concerned that a child this young would be talking about suicide in any form, no matter how indirectly. I would hope that you are having some gentle conversations with her about this aspect of her essay, and about where she is getting these ideas and thoughts. These perspectives on life are a bit extreme for a ten year old.

Please don't take my thoughts the wrong way, but I would be concerned.

thanks for the repplys, we do talk to her about what she is putting on paper and keep a close eye on her and when we asked about the content she said it is just something she thought up, She does read allot and all different types of books.
My family is very into books and my mother and sisters all have stuff published in the past and some of it is off the deep end.

both my girls are very advanced for there ages and that does make it a bit hard for me to keep up with them.
