A preamp for my two Kenwood L-07MII

I'll have the two Kenwood L-07MII that i bought recently (and badly out of shape) fully recapped by EchoWars in december.

I wander if i could use whith them the preamp part of my Luxman L-100 which works perfectly and had been fully recapped 3 years ago.

I also have the Kenwood L-07CII preamp, but it looks badly out of shape too. I dont want to spend money on it if my Luxman can do the job as well. If not
which preamp would u suggest to look for?

Thanks for ur advice.

If the Lux has pre-out/main-in jacks, I don't see why you can't use it as a preamp. Ought to work fine (and the Luxman is a very nice piece).

I used the preamp section of a Lux L-580 that could not fully drive a McCormack DNA-1. I don't know the specs, output capabilities or input requirements, but at full volume ont he Lux I got maybe a third of the power of the McCormack. So if the specs are available, that would allow you to verify that it will work. But if you have em, just try em. Should be fine.

From what I have read, the Kenwood preamp will take better advantage of the "high-speed" design of the amps. If it was me, I'd have the L-07C II restored and use that, just seems like the thing to do.

Try the Kenwood preamp first and see how you like the set. If it is only shabby looking, that wouldn't bother me--I like nice, but it is how it performs is what matters to me.
And I will echo EchoWars that if the Luxman has pre out/main in you're good to go that route, too.
About that preamp, the L series of gear is very good stuff. Worth it to get made right if it is ailing.
