A resistor in the bi wire jumper

Has any one seen a bi wiring terminal with a resistor instead of the metal jumper ? what is it for and what are the advantages/disadvantages.

It was a pair of 8" woofers and a horn in a center speaker if that matters, and it was great sounding also. Presumably the horn was loud and had to be muzzled, but does it do anything more diabolical.
