Loool, yea DF's are fantastic cans, I just got mine fully restored with fresh parts from AKG, a new homebrew dual entry cable and new pads and screening, it's great I hope they last forever.

Excellent collection, thanks for the view.

What parts did you swap out?

got any pics of your restored pair?

I swapped out everything except drivers, baffle and swivel hinges.
Here is the K240 service manual with parts list:

And a picture of the result:

kidding aside.. did you unscrew the jack at all? i read eariler Df's used 4-core wiring like the sextetts on a 1/4'' jack. also did you ever remove the screening? if not, by now it's probably rotting away. same with the foam inside the headphone. also wondering if your DF's use the passive filters like the sextetts cause AKG liked to recyle their parts a lot and early DF's used the sextetts 6 passive filters, and later model used woven paper, while other current one before they gotten discontinued used a black woven fabric that was stitched as the acoustic chambers/ports.

my DF's has the black woven fabric as the acoustic chambers. mine all original, except for the re-cabling i did on them. used 18 gauge silver/copper wiring and terminated with silver 4-pin XLR neutrik plug for running off of speaker outputs.

What are the prices on the parts?

Mine could do with a headband, pads, elastics for the headbands, and any other parts that may have deteriorated over time

Without shipping and import tax from the US to DK I payed around 80$ for all the parts I ordered from AKG, that is a whole K240DF except baffle, driver, hinges, pads and screening.
The pads and screens I bought from thomann.de.
So the prices are not as high as I thought they would be, I don't know the prices of individual parts, except that the headband is the most expensive part at around 17$.
If you want to recable your DF's I can recommend you make your cable from stripped and braided Mogami w2893 wire, it's cheap and durable.

Oh and it seems that soundcraft-canada.com is the Canadian AKG distributor, you'll most likely have to order your parts through them.
