OH MY! Yes! That looks lovely. I have surely never seen a mk2 with a finish like that. Absolutely stunning indeed! How are you going to put the etchings back on. They have sticker ones I've seen floating around but depending on the finish you can tell it's a sticker, but with your type of finish you can proberly pull it off.

I'm curious what you're going to do about etchings too.
I did a purple powder coat and used stickers. Hated it.
Now have one that I mirror polished and trying to figure out what to do.

Exactly what it was. I was going to powder coat it but my friends bead blaster wasn't working well so I used a sanding disc in the angle grinder and I liked the look. I used a Dremel with a smaller disc over that and then satin clear coat.

The Redding came with my 250 record purchase yesterday.
 
I've got a new lid for it too but I just have to find the missing hinge part, plus the misplaced slider scale and another trim piece I ordered way back then. Oh yeah, and figure out where all the extra screws go!

I might try a decal kit but I'm not sure. One thing I know is that the white LED I soldered in the slider board is too bright. Maybe I will try some coloured nail polish to knock that back a bit.
 
If it functions right and is treating you vinyl the way it should, that is a great turntable.

If you have a buyer interested in the decal kit, jump on it. If that were on my stand, I'd be pretty pleased as it is.

One thing I'd like to do is to fix up the platter a bit. You can see that the black part around the dots is a bit inconsistent. I'm thinking I will need to paint it and then sand/polish off the dots, sort of like that Pioneer headshell on your red deck Rob.

Very nice table, ordered a 1200 that was all redone and should be getting it any day now. I am really stoked to get this turntable, it was the 1200 or a Rega P 3 and I opted for the 1200, just a great solid workhorse with a great reputation. :music:
 
I found all the miscellaneous parts and tweaked a bit. It now has a brand new heavy mat from KAB, new trim ring around the pop-up light (old one was cracked), the pitch slider plate and I found the misplaced hinge part and got that new lid in place. :thmbsp:

I also did the swirly thing with my Dremel on a metal 45 adaptor and dropped it in the holder to complete the look. I'm still going to try to subdue the pitch LED a bit, and the pop-up light for some reason won't turn off when I push it down. I tried to clean the switch but it has not fixed it yet. I'm not too worried about it now that it's an LED but it's a bit odd that it stays on.

Well even though I can handle a manual table just fine, I still like the idea of being able to fall asleep without the needle on the record. I certainly have no concerns about the Technics DD motors running for practically ever...

However I snagged an Audio Technica Safety Raiser today and found out that I could make it fit, just, on the tonearm base. It took a bit of fiddling to get it just right but it works fine. I've been playing Physical Graffiti (now on side 4) and it has a narrow lead-out zone and has worked great so far. I had to straighten the wires on the AT thing a bit but that was easy.

I can go to bed happy now. :)
