Keep the memories alive, tell the children and grand-children about him. It helps everyone get through tough times now and in the future. I know I am enriched knowing what you told us about your father--Be well-and best wishes! -- Herb
 
Sorry for your loss, Toni. :sigh: Sometimes we don't really appreciate family members with a rough edge to them, but they are family. It's good for you, that you were there for him, you'll grow from the pain, in time.
 
My condolences to you Toni. From reading your tribute I've no doubt he left his mark on you in a good way. Cherish the memories as nothing can take them away from you.

I was really touched and moved by your beautiful, and in a way very poetic, tribute to your father.

I particularly liked when you described how you held his hand before he passed away. I wish I had had the chance of doing that to my dad when he passed away, and I sincerely hope my children have the chance to do it to me when my time comes.

Thank you all for your kind words and heartfelt sympathies. Dad will be laid to rest a week from tomorrow.

It's been a very difficult month but the worst is over and we now have only memories.

I am so grateful for my AK friends and family. You will never know how much I appreciate all of you and how much strength has come from your support.

I'm sorry for your loss Toni. He raised a fine woman though, and I'm sure he was proud of you. I'm happy that you got to say goodbye and that he passed with you near, knowing he was loved.
