don't get me wrong, i was not trying to be snotty at all. just trying to make sense out of this sickness. i am way guilty myself, having the following
(2x) sansui au-9500, pre-tube habit
(2x) sansui au-11000, pre-tube habit
(1x) sansui au-20000, pre-tube habit
(1x) sansui tu-7800, pre-tube habit
(1x) sansui tu-9500, pre-tube habit
(1x) some yamaha high end reciever, gift
and now the tube stuff
(2x) sansui 1000-a, one for parts only maybe
(1x) motorola console
(1x) 1939 or 40 zenith console, furniture
(1x) heathkit aa-100 parts
(1x) fisher console reciever
(2x) altec 1570b's... future project, they scare me now had for 20 some years
and finally a cherry 500c, been looking for the right one
it is obvious i have a problem, i have acumulated most of this in last 2 years. really do not even want to get into speaker habit right now either...
where does a guy like me find help, cannot stay away from c/l...lol
oops, for got the mac stuff which i will not touch untill more confident... pair of mc-30's, mr 68? and a fisher 400c preamp

Been thinking about it. Seriously. Well, the purge is serious, maybe the KHorns not right at the moment. I'd have to do some serious speaker herd thinning as well.

A guy with too many tubes
I have an 1800 I was lucky to get at a hamfest some years back. Guy was wheeling a stack of gear in on a handtruck, and I bought the stack before he got to his table. (You should hear about the ones that got away!). It is a nifty-looking unit. I'll probably let it go this winter, as I try to sell my way to remodel basement into a great listening space, and pay for my other expensive habit (diving, underwater photography). I can appreciate rare items like this, but I don't have the real collector mentality.

Clay, I was so busy hosting, I completely missed that Fisher. Everyone I talked to who actually heard it was blown away by it though. Congrats on the new Fishers.

Unrelated...how does the 800 compare to the x202 integrated amp? Is it the same amplifier section? My tech has an 800 but I think it would sound about the same as what I have, and he also has some Citation gear that could be a better choice to avoid having too much repetition.
I've never done any extended listening with the X-202-B. It's working but it's in the when I get around to cleaning it up pile. I'm guessing there shouldn't be any significant difference in similar 7591 output sections.
