This is for the Vinyl Stack for use in an ultrasonic cleaner....
One issue I have had (and I'm am guessing I am not the one here) is that the rubber gaskets that keep the water off the labels also press 'crud' in the grooves, and you end up cleaning it manually anyway at times to remove it.
So, I decided to find a few 'crappola' records and try using it WITHOUT those rubber gaskets. After finding another washer (you need to add a washer or two to make sure you have the albums secured tightly), I made sure the cleaning solution was right to the very bottom of the white discs that hold the records, and turned it on. After a 15 min. cycle on the 2nd slowest setting, I left them to finish drying on a towel.
When I opened it up, the labels did NOT get wet at all. AND the albums where as clean as a whistle right through the runout groove.
Any cleaning solution appeared to just stay in the groove that the O-ring/seal lies in, but it never got to the record itself. before this, the O-ring was always wet, and at times allowed water to get on the label itself.
So, for what it's worth, this appears to work better WITHOUT the seals for the labels than with them, as odd as that sounds!
