Hello, thanks for your responses!...I think to buy at ebay the russian tubes, I see quads of 6P3S-E in 24$ with 12$ for international shipping(I am from Spain), and five of these tubes for 30$ with 12$ of shipping:

A lot of guitar people like J/J tubes. I use their 7591A's in a Scott 340 and they sound good. For modern production EL34's I still prefer real Svetlana tubes (not the repros sold in the United States) You can get real Svetlana made tubes in the USA. They are usually under the name SED or carry the so called 'Winged C"
logo. They have a warmer sound then the Electroharmonix EL34's but still have nice extended highs and good mids. For the money they are a really good sounding tube. Prices of so called NOS EL34's are crazy and to be frank, they just don't sound much better. I have one pair of B code Mullard EL34's and a pair of Siemens and I certainly would not pay the price people ask for those tubes if I had to buy them and needed new EL34's. They just don't sound that much better to justify their price.
As for J/J EL34's, I find their sound to be half way between ElectroHarmonix and the latest real Svetlana EL34's. Most amps that use the EL34 can also use the KT66 since output transformer impedance requirements, filament requirements and biasing are pretty much the same. Both have a 25 watt plate dissipation rating. You may have to tweak he bias a little, but other then that, they generally work fine and will offer up a slightly different sound signature. I actually build an amp that uses a pair of EL34's in push pull parallel with a pair of KT66's. A unique setup that really has a nice sound to it.

Might have been me. Those tubes sounded great in my MC-10L. Sold the amp, gave the tubes to a friend in PA. Just bought more for my new amp.

Can't go wrong from this advice. I got lucky with my first quad having ordered them from an Ebay suppler in the Ukraine.

I have the EH EL34's right now. Not bad, but the Russians are a lot better IMO.
 
Yes, Mark, it's you!, I read your review of these russian tubes with the Yaqin MC-10L!...I have a Yaqin ms34d amp, and in this moment runing a quad of EL34 EH, that sub the Shuguang original tubes. My amp have a bias adjust for every tube, like the MC-10L. I supose if can use the 6P3S-E in my amp, without any problem?

I think to buy five of these tubes for a possible damage in one tube...

I tried the 6P3S-E's in my Yaqin MC-10L but they wouldn't fit. The base of the tube was not long enough as the glass portion of the tube was hitting the amp chassis. After I returned the tubes to Jim McShane, a few weeks later I learned that I could have installed tube socket savers (basically extensions) that would enable to the tubes to fit.

The Svetlana (branded SED or Winged "C") tubes are, and have been, made in St. Petersberg in Russia. The main factory has been in business since the 20s. They've never been made in the USA. Their EL34s are, however, very nice tubes. I use them in my Van Alstine stuff.

I really like my EH 6CA7's, but I'm using them in a SE UL application so maybe they sound different for this type of amplifier. I also have the EH EL34's, and they sound a little more forward than the 6CA7's. Great for rock though.
