Does the harmony universal remote full support the tp-117 ?
Not the last time I checked. However you can use an Xsight and have the full capabilities of the original RTP-117 remote. See my hifi-remote.com link above. If you're stuck on Harmony, I would offer to check for you but unfortunately my second 650 has died, and I don't want to unprogram the first one because it runs the whole living room AV system. I did send Logitech the codes but a) I don't think they implemented them and b) I found just last week that I'd made a mistake on the Tape 2 controller.
and can I use my digital receiver with the tp-117 ?
How would you be using the two pieces? TP-117 just needs a power amp, but if your receiver has pre outs/main ins there are a couple ways you could lash them together. depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
does the tuner part has wide and narrow settings for Fm radio ?
I'm pretty sure it does, but check the manual linked above to be sure. My memory says there is a switch on a circuit board inside the unit that allows you to switch the tuning steps for FM from 200 kHz (normal) to 25kHz (narrow).
I have the service manual and schematics for it as well, think I had to go to Elektrotanya to get those. If you can't find them let me know.
If you have any more questions about this unit feel free to ask; I am actually messing with mine right now as I just got the magical RC-503 accessory IR repeater in the mail yesterday; I am learning more things about this unit daily and will probably be dragging the scope out tomorrow figuring out exactly how everything works. The schematic is pretty good, with the help of it and the test points and voltages included with same I was able to diagnose a failed op amp in my unit, and I'm kind of an electronic idiot.
As I said, if I needed a good tuner/pre, for $40 I would buy it, and then spend another $20-30 or so on an Xsight Color and program it to control it. If you don't need Zone 2 capability and all equipment connected to it will be together (so you don't need IR blasters or anything like that) you can stop there. What I am doing right now is trying to set mine up as a 2 zone system and also have the ability to control non-Luxman components with a universal remote for either zone; that is why I'm messing with the RC-501 and 503 right now.
