Acos Lustre GST-1 arm Cueing piston damping?

Does anyone know how to fix the cueing for this arm. It drops to fast.

I disassembled the cueing and I see the piston that rises and falls has a rod extending off the side that the cue lever lifts up for playing records. This rod fits in an open slot of the main cueing platform. It extends all the way down to the bottom screw cap. If I add any silicon damping fluid under the piston it just leaks out this slot. I tried adding silicon fluid (100,000 CST) to the piston sides but it really did not slow the dropping of the piston much. That fluid also eventually makes it way out the same slot.

The rod on the piston (which the cueing lever lifts) goes all the way to the bottom of the mechanism (when lowering tonearm) and then forces any fluid out the slot.

According the manual of gst1, there need not any silicone oil. You have to down the liter softly and slowly. :)
