So I was strolling through the thrift yesterday and saw a pair of atypical vintage budget speakers. They were Acoustalinear Model 312's and in excellent condition save for the 12" woofers needing new surrounds. Looks like there's a phenolic tweeter, a paper coned 4.5 midrange speaker and they're ported. The grills are tapered and recessed in the cabinet which gives them a unique and interesting look. The badges are gold in color.
Are these things decent sounding considering their look screams budget speaker with the vinyl laminate on the cabinets? :scratch2: The only snippet of information I found was that this brand was manufactured by Becker for Sound of Music [ Best Buy ]. Not sure if that's reliable information, but it's probable if not likely.
Now I'm not really looking to buy them for myself but if anyone in the AK community needed them or parts from them, I'd be willing to pick them up and ship them if there's any interest [ and if they haven't been bought already ].
Just let me know your thoughts or any interest.
