Acoustat Repairs - Roy A. Esposito

Kent Engineering & Fondry
I thought a bit about whether Roy really needed or wanted any additional publicity. If he lurks here, I apologize if he finds this inappropriate. But this was posted on the AudioCircuit Forum so I assume it is OK to diseminate.

From all my reading as a new owner of the venerable Acoustat Spectra 22's, Roy is a previous employee of the Acoustat family and from what I have gathered is one of the most competent individuals to untake any repairs or upgrades of the Acoustat ESL's.

I was searching him out to see if he would entertain assisting me in upgrading and improving my MK-2123 Interfaces and I kept finding the old prodigy.net email address, which is no longer valid.

Fortunately, I found his new email and after contacting me back, he has agreed to book me into his schedule. He is booked out pretty much 6-8 months, so you will need to be patient if you are interested in him working with you. But from what I have read, he is the best when it comes to these systems and well worth the wait.

So for all of you Acoustat-karmites, here is his posting with his current email address!

Hello Friends --

This is just to let you know that my email contact
has recently changed. It seems AT&T/Yahoo could no
longer support my very old prodigy.net email address.
For those of you requiring fantastic restorations
and upgrading of Acoustat MK and Spectra Interfaces
and Acoustat Power Amplifiers and Preamplifiers
my new email address is

acoustat.service.usa@gmail.com

(please notice the dots/periods between the words)

Thank you for your continued friendship, kind comments and reviews,
and support of my work.

All the Best,
Roy A. Esposito

Count me as a satisfied customer. I purchased used 1+1s several years ago that were in rough condition. I had a local seamstress make some new socks and sent the interfaces to Roy for a makeover.

He is very conscientious, reasonably priced, but as you indicate his services are in demand so you need to be patient and get in line! I chose his switchable "air mod" option that effectively fixes the internal HF setting at flat, but improves sound through bypassing the variable resistor.

Thanks for that link. I may be in contact with him about some work on my interfaces.

Got my interfaces back Joe and man, what a treat. Enhanced clarity and definition through out the frequency range with better smoothness in that critical mid to upper mid-range.

Some upgrades you do and you're not sure you can really notice a big improvement. But when I got my Spectra-22's set back up, even after two months of not having them, I instantly knew my sound was improved!

Can't say enough about Roy's work bringing these from 1980 to 2015 standards!
