Acoustat Speakers?

Just saw two ads on Craigslist for a pair of Acoustat 1+1 speakers, but I believe one pair is actually model 3's? Here are the links and no affiliation.

Are either of these pairs worth the $750 asking price?

The 1st link points to the Model 3's. as you suspected. The 2nd link definitely shows 1+1's. Pretty much any Acoustats are worth buying, as they were well designed and very robust. So, unless the panels were somehow physically damaged, they usually still play fine.

Me, I like the 1+1's, due to the stacked design. More of a line source. You can run them full range, or some have an interface that allows for a sub/woofer hook up too. Also, with Acoustats, the more panels the better, as this tends to increase efficiency, which makes the speaker easier to drive. So, the 3's will play louder than the 1+1's. As to price, $750 isn't too bad. It's a typical asking price. But, I've seen cheaper. Start at about $400, and work your way up.
