These speakers began their lives as a pair of Acoustic Research AR-2a built in 1962. The woofers are now the only original drivers (rebuilt); tweeters and mids have been replaced with modern HiVi Q1R and DMB-A. Crossovers have been redone, caps replaced, rheostats "full up" bypassed, cabinets resealed, etc. Cosmetically they're in fairly rough shape, and they have no grilles... but they sound very nice.
Selling this little project for less than I paid for the parts. They would make very nice dedicated woofers, party speakers, or you could always part them out and recoup your cost or better. Please email with any questions.
