Acoustic Sounds, Analogue Productions, Quality Record Pressings

Off topic

I got this tonight and paid quiet a bit for it but it's totally mint. I'll need to learn a little more about it.

I haven't got that record, but I've got this one:

On a related note, in a Cambridge, MA record store last night (Stereo Jack's) I saw an Acoustic Research demo sampler LP from the '70s.

GREAT thread ! I've watched all of the videos at least twice each ! Over the weekend I ordered - Cat Stevens and JJ Cale - both pressed by Quality - they're due here Wednesday !

Thanks again for this thread - I've enjoyed the heck out of it and learned a great deal !

Yeah Im still looking for more stuff to add here. Oh that JJ Cale is in my wish list so please come back and tell us what you think.

I've enjoyed this thread also. One of the things I think hasn't been discussed is who's at the controls during remastering. I have several albums that I have noticed were mastered by Bernie and they are fantastic!! One he did is David Crosby 's If I Could Only Remember My Name. Not sure were it was pressed but I think he's the best in the business. One thing I don't understand is if he only works with one company or if he's a hired gun going from project to project.

Bob Ludwig is the best. Bernie is excellent and not to be overlooked. He is a hired gun.

Received the couple of records and just finished listening to the JJ Cale and I'm speechless - it's just incredible - it's without a doubt the very best sounding record I've ever owned ! I can see myself building quite a collection of Quality pressings !
What a great place to do business with - the packaging is over the top !
I'm so glad I happened onto this thread ! I've been off and on collecting for the past 40 + years and have some neat stuff but this goes in an entirely different level !
I'll listen to the Cat Stevens record in the morning but not doubt it's gonna be awesome !

Ands this is why I wanted to have this thread going. Playing one of the AP records is like you did a system upgrade without lifting anything.

Personally when it come to "Listening" to records I would rather have one grate record than two or three so so copies.

Yep the customer service appears to be second to none ! They also sent a great catalog with even more titles than I see on the website ! And you're exactly right - with quality this good it really shames a lot I have already ! I just got my Elac Miracord back from being serviced and WOW - what a great combination !

Which JJ Cale album did you get? I've got a shopping cart going there and would like to add one more before pulling the trigger.

Yep - that's it and it's darn good ! Well worth the $ !
I'll probably place another order today or tomorrow !

you guys are causing trouble, your comments about the quality of the 45rpm pressings forced me to go looking in my collection! I only have one, but WOW you right, the clarity, openness fullness is amazing! Thank you for making me go look!

Trackin' by Lew Tabackin on RCA Direct Master series RDC-3 from 1976. Distributed by Audio Technica, RCA Japan.

I listened to side 1 Cat Stevens last night and it was insanely good ! It's odd because I've had copies of this for years but this one is honestly like hearing it for the first time ! I've got a big wish list on their site - no way can I get them all at once but I am placing another order today !

I have two 45rpm AP releases: Somethin' Else by Cannonball Adderley and Blue Train by Coltrane - both excellent.

A couple of days ago I ordered Time Out (33rpm), which I don't have on vinyl yet, the Pet Sounds SACD, along with some additional non-AP vinyl releases (Music Matters, etc) - all should be arriving Monday or so.
