Acquired a Technics SL-QD33, needs a needle.

Picked up a Technics SL-QD33 for $20 with some records, got it while i work on my Dual 1228, but it definitely needs a needle, the old one is broken, the recommended AT92E has been discontinued and replaced with the AT85EP, so I’m unsure what to get for this one.

Recommendations?

The Audio Technica AT 85EP would be a suitable replacement.

*a genuine replacement stylus might be found even cheaper if hunt around

These inexpensive audio technicas have the same internals as the standard mount moving magnet cartridges -- dual vector aligned magnets produce exceptional soundstage and channel separation. It's a sleeper cart

You can get a replacement stylus for the Audio Technica DC 30 cartridge.

It would be better to get a stylus that was designed as a replacement stylus for the Audio Technica DC 30 cartridge.

You can use anything that would fit into the cartridge.

You may not have the best results though.
