Actor William Hurt has passed away

A true character actor of stage, screen and even some T.V.
He was only 71.

Can’t seem to remember a single thing he wasn’t great in, going back to The Big Chill.

Sad to see him go.

Sad to see as he was a great actor.
"Altered States" is still one of my favorite movies and I guess his breakout role but he was great in so many roles big and small.

I’ll always remember him in Wim Wenders’ sprawling masterpiece Until the End of the World.

Godspeed, William.

I consider “Body Heat” to be one of the top five movies of the 80’s. Great story, excellent acting, Kathleen Turner in her first big role, what more could you want? The scene where Ned Racine takes a patio chair and busts out her front window is still seared in my memory. I really liked his worn out C2 Corvette as well. If you missed this one I highly recommend you seek it out.

Great actor my favorite of course was until the end of the world and what an amazing soundtrack which I still listen to often.

His last bit of work (that has been released) was a truly great villain on Goliath.

Dance til your feet hurt.

Sing til your lungs hurt.

Act til your William Hurt.

Loved your roles in The Big Chill and Michael. RIP Mr. Hurt.

I just watched Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) and had forgotten he had a role in that. He just seemed "genuine" in everything he did.

First time I became aware of his talent was in "Body Heat", back around `80 or `81. He had that "genuine" quality which made him a natural in so many roles.
RIP, Sir.
