Acurus A200X3 Nudes

I thought I had a bad input in my Acurus A200X3, but after inspection it turned out to be a bad cable. Everything needed tidied up anyway so a rig tear down was in order. I am only using the Acurus A200 with my Polk Audio Monitor 10's over the holidays to appease my wifes Holiday wishes:sigh:, so the troublesome channel was not really an issue, but I sure hate loose ends. I opened the A200X3 up to check things out and thought some might like to see what it looks like. The unit looks very empty inside due to the heat sinks being on the sides and back, but I have to say driving the Midrange/Bass panels in the MGIIIa's with the 3rd channel driving my NHT W2 subs this amp really delivers and rarely gets warm at volumes that will bring the wife running!
The output is 200 watts RMs X 3 into 8 ohms, and 300 watts X 3 into 4 ohms.

I used to have two of A200x3 and they sings really nicely. I really never used them so I sold them. I am not regretting my decision to sell mine but I know how good they sounds and how clean they build internally.

Answering for Jim...I don't think they are very rare to come by. They pop up here and there on fleabay and a few times on Agon on regular basics. But very nice amp and excellent bang for the bucks for the price.

Tidied up? I'll say. That is a nice looking rig :yes: Most of my gear has dog hair inside it when I open it up. The joys of having a Newfoundland in the house.

They have run for over 2 years without a problem, so reliability is not an issue.

I would go for the A200 2 channel unit ($350-$450) over the A250 units. I drove my MG1.6's with it and they really sounded amazing. I sold the 1.6's to upgrade to 3.6's but the deal on them fell through, and my daughter's college tuition and the acquisition of the MGIIIa's got in the way. The MGIIIa's being older lead me down the passive crossover upgrade, but after pricing parts I decided to bi-amp them instead. The Behringer CX2310 had a sub out, so I went with the A200 X3 to drive the Bass panels on the MG IIIa's and my NHT Sub. The Acurus A200 was recommended to me by Roy Johnson of Green Mountain Audio, and he was right this amp really does it for me! Highly recommended unless you want to go for an Aragon, Edge, or Pass amp etc and spend 2,3,4 times as much.
