Acusta Craft Speakers 1978 to 1982 Beautiful

I had these for a while, 1981-1983 lived in Long Island was a mgr. for various NY/Long Island stores with Lafayette / Circuit City at the time, had a pretty cool system purchased elsewhere, Luxman Amp, Tape Deck, Garrard Zero 2000B and these Acusta Craft Speakers. I only bring this up because my son and I were talking about our systems and mostly Speakers we have owned and liked a lot. I found my old info on these the other day and tried looking up the company, seems there is no trace at all on the internet. seems weird to me there would not be some info somewhere. I had the CVM4 System, consisted of two End Table Woofers non powered in Cabinets all there own and then 2 Tall but thin satellites for the main sound, heck even the front speakers had a 10" woofer. They came in real Walnut Veneer crazy heavy with Mica Black Tops for both the 2 Woofers and the towers in between the wood top and sides. Pretty unique for back then. Heck I must have made more money then. than I remember as the price sheet shows $1200.00 for the speakers which in todays money would be $5978.00, could never afford them now. Anyway. wonder if anyone has found info online somewhere about the company, how long they were around and all. They were quality speakers and sounded amazing at least in my memory. Here are some pics for fun as well from my Catalog. Company was based in Kansas.

I associate AcustaCraft with the enclosures and consoles that were the bread and butter of putting speakers together before AR came along with the sealed loudspeaker. It used to be you bought drivers and bought or made enclosures and crossovers, and put them together yourself. There were several large companies and many local cabinet makers that sold boxes or knock down kits. Barzillay and Acusta Craft may have been the best known.
I didn't know that they actually sold complete speaker systems. Interesting.

The company I mention did make kits as well as completed Speakers. It is just really weird that I can find no trace of them, no info on how long they existed or anything, really odd to me. Was hoping someone on here had some links to valid info.

i found an old catalog of theirs just the other day. i realize how a lot of their design philosophies were spot on but i did not know that at the time. i wish i could have heard some of the systems!
